Staff Accountant

Cerro Fabricated Products LLC (CFP) is currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Weyers Cave, Virginia.  CFP is an industry leader of Brass and Aluminum forging and machining, supplying a wide range of customers.  CFP is part of the Marmon Group of companies, owned by Berkshire Hathaway.

Job Description Summary:

Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will help oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and will assist in other areas in accounting including cost accounting, month-end closing, financial analysis and reporting.  An effective Staff Accountant is a team player with an analytical mind, solid understanding of GAAP with the ability to apply professional judgement while operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  They must be reliable and able to work autonomously and collaboratively within the Accounting department and beyond. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day management of the Accounts Payable function.
• Record banking transactions and reconcile bank accounts.
• Review and analyze capital projects.
• Fixed asset management including additions, disposals and reconciliations.
• Champion of maintaining a strong internal control environment.
• Consolidate month-end accruals and prepare journal entries.
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations.
• Assist with AR invoicing, collection activities and other Accounting responsibilities.
• Provide analytical support on an ad hoc basis.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies (Education and Experience):

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or equivalent of 3 years manufacturing accounting experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with individuals of various skillsets.
• Attention to detail and accuracy of all reported/disseminated information.
• Strong Excel skills and manufacturing ERP system experience are preferred.

Job Description

CFP is currently accepting applications for Forge Operators.

First shift – Monday-Thursday:  5am – 5pm & Weekend First – Friday – Sunday: 5am to 5pm
Second shift – Monday-Thursday:  5pm -5am & Weekend Second – Friday – Sunday: 5pm to 5am

The Forge Press Operator performs all tasks involved in the forging of aluminum or brass slugs into finished parts. Forge Press Operators will follow and maintain quality standards throughout the process as well as maintain standard work practices and safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

We are looking for candidates that have the following background/experience:

• Excellent safety record and knowledge of Safety Best Practices in a Manufacturing Environment.
• Previous manufacturing experience is required for all Operator positions.
• Familiarity working in a heavy manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Team-oriented attitude and ability to work well with others in a team environment is required.
• Experience working with forge presses, or other mechanical machines a plus – indicate applicable experience on your application.
• Experience working with heat treat equipment in operations a plus.
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. periodically.

First Shift: Monday – Friday 7 AM- 3 PM

Second Shift: Monday – Friday 3 PM – 11 PM

Third Shift: Sunday – Thursday 11 PM – 7 AM

We are looking for candidates that have the following background/experience:

Previous CNC or machining experience is required.

• Ability to to read micrometers and calipers a plus.
• Team-oriented attitude and ability to work well with others in a team environment is required.
• Experience working with multiple CNC lathes and mills.
• Excellent safety record and knowledge of Safety Best Practices in a Manufacturing Environment.
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. periodically.
